// Code of Conduct
Houston BSides is dedicated to a harassment-free experience for everyone.
This applies to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and organizers, across every part of the event — talks, villages, social spaces, and online. Hack the systems, not the people.
> not_permitted
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form
- Offensive comments related to gender, identity, orientation, race, religion, disability, or appearance
- Unwelcome sexual attention, stalking, or inappropriate physical contact
- Photographing or recording someone without consent
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events
- Attacking the conference network or attendees’ systems without explicit permission

If you experience or witness a violation, contact any organizer or staff member — look for clearly marked badges on site — or email info@houstonbsides.org. Reports are taken seriously and handled discreetly.
Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including removal from the event without refund and referral to venue security or law enforcement.
By attending Houston BSides, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Thank you for helping keep our community welcoming and safe.
